This concert explores the expressive range of the string quartet across three distinct musical worlds. Beethoven brings elegance, wit, and lyrical grace in his G-major quartet. Shostakovich’s Eighth Quartet offers an intensely personal journey through anguish and defiance. Dvořák closes the evening with the warmth, rhythmic energy, and open-hearted lyricism of his “American” Quartet.
